Friendship Blog hop, award, getting to know you

The questions..
1. The most expensive thing hanging in my closet is.....? I would guess probably one of my ball gowns!
2. Have you ever played a team sport? Only in high school....volleyball & cheerleading. (And yes it is a sport so don't go there!)
3. If you were a bug, what kind would you be? A lady bug. Not only because Kendall is our little (lady) bug but because they are pretty, not scary, & not really harmful.
4. Where on your body is the worst place to get sunburned? (thanks Ian)I have to say your back. Clothes ouch! Sleeping ouch! Hugs ouch! You get the picture.
5. Are you happy? That's a loaded question tonight....yes I am very happy with where my life is right now. I love my husband, children, family, & friends. It all makes for a very fulfilling life. Am I happy with my day today? NO!!!!!
6. People are always abbreviating..are there any abbreviations that make your skin crawl when people use them? Only all the texting stuff that I am not sure what it means.....then I feel really old and stupid!
7. Do you love where you live..or could you live anywhere? I don't love where I live but I don't hate it either. I think that wherever you live, your life will be what you make of it. I choose to make the best of it and find stuff to love!
8. What, if any, extreme measures do you go to to keep yourself from overeating when you're full? I am normally pretty good about knowing when I am full. I cannot eat more when I am full or I get sick. I hate throwing up enough not to do something to make myself do it!!

Random Ramblings of A Military Wife
Staci at www.ramblingmilitarywife.blogspot.com/ is having a blog hop.
So go on over and see if you like it :-)
My brief (yeah right!) bio.
I am a 32 year old small town nothern girl who married a southern gentleman. (It is very much true about the fact the southern gentleman have better manners for the most part!) I have 2 small children & 3-fourlegged kiddos. I am an RN by trade but love my current job (SAHM) the most. I like to dabble in the crafting area. I love to read (when I have time.) I can be a little on the air-headed side but I would like to think of that as part of my charm.
This is my little space to talk about my hubby, our life, our kids, the military, and all of that stuff. Plus I hope leaving our kids a written legacy of what "ordinary, every day" life was like with us!

This award is coming from Bethany. It is pretty neat because she created this award! Since I have married a southerner and have lived a lot in the south I know all about "Bless your heart" expressions.

My most recent Bless your heart moment was talking with someone (a civilian) about the detachment that my husband is on. This woman told me "I think that you are so lucky to get some alone time away from your husband. I think that sometimes I would pay to send him somewhere."

I was thinking really lady? My husband and I have been married for 6 years and 4 months. We have been apart 29 months (2 years and 5 months) out of that. Does my husband drive me crazy sometimes uh huh?!? But do I think that I am lucky to be alone again.....WRONG try again!

So for her I am dedicating this "bless your heart moment" For more head on over to

And in case you haven't picked up on it, "Bless Your Heart" is a sarcastic Southern saying. Instead of engaging in an awkward verbal confrontation with someone in public, you just simply smile, flash those pearly whites, tell 'em "Bless your heart, you just don't even know any better!" and walk away. It can also be used as a word of appreciation (bless your heart, you didn't need to bring me flowers when I was in the hospital), but it's when you use it sarcastically and the other person doesn't know you're being sarcastic that's the clincher! Try it! :)

That's what I try to say to bad drivers instead of using the horrible swear words in front of my kids! LOL
