Farewell to Fuzz

Last night, we took Kahlua to her new home. It's hard to believe she has been with me for 12 years. Fuzzy has been quite the spitfire and I hope that she treats her new family well!
Here are our last pictures with her before we dropped her off at Isaac's soccer coaches house.

1 year

So hard to believe it has been a whole year since we have had your sweet face here.
Missing you G-man.
Our grocery bill has gone down since you are not helping yourself to loaves of bread, raw chicken, and everything else under the sun.
No one flopping in our grass while they are in trouble....
Not a single poop on the stairs!
Rest well our furry friend.

Four-legger love

Kymber enjoys spending time with her favorite dogger. I think that is what motivated her to start scooting all over just so she can get to our Jordan girl. This is the other morning when she backed herself up so she could pat-pat.
Jordan 11 years old
Kymber 8 months old

Missing my Momo

One thing I can say about Geronimo, is that he NEVER left my side especially when I was sick.
I am missing his big, wet nose pressing against me today.

Mish, mash

Jordan update:
Our sweet pound pup has had 2 seizures since we had Kymber. Of course she might have had more that we are not aware of.
Her lab results have come back that she has pancreatitis. The vet said that could be the cause of her seizures. We are to clean up Jordan's diet to clear up the pancreatitis. If that stops the seizures, then we have our answer. If not, our vet believes that she has idiopathic epilepsy which will need medicated.
Thanks to everyone who has been checking on her!

Kymber is 9 weeks old today!
It's funny to me that weeks don't match up to months but I know that is because some months have 5 weeks in them :)
Poor girl is still congested, struggling with colic, and irritable from her 3 shots & 1 oral vaccination from yesterday.
I know better days are ahead for our sweetie but the middle of it is wearisome.
She is a big smiler and recognizes her immediate family.
Oh and she's walking already! Just kidding....Ben likes to give her a workout!
Her stats are
Height 22.5 in (75%)
Weight 12 lbs 3 oz (78%)

Our final day with Geronimo

I have been putting off posting...frankly I still can't really talk about Geronimo very much without crying.
I am hoping that by blogging and saving some memories that it will be good therapy for me.
These are our last shots with our big old teddy bear. He remained our protector until his last breath even though he was in quite a lot of pain.
He gave us one last good laugh while sitting in the parking lot at the vet's office....for those of you that knew Momo well, you know that he was slightly prejudiced even though he himself was black. Well true to form, there was an African-American gentleman walking past that Geronimo picked his head up and growled at. Sweet boy I miss having you rest your head on me so much!

Geronimo goes home....

A dog can bring us joy and peace that no other human being can provide.
Thank God for them.

I will share more memories and pictures later on about our sweet Mo man but right now his passing is just too fresh on my mind and heart.
The house definitely feels much emptier without his huge presence in it.

With faith like a child......

This morning I had a role reversal with my sweet Isaac.
I was sitting (ok bawling) with Geronimo this morning. He is looking worse each day and I was thinking how unnatural it feels to determine the day of his death. (Much like selecting Kymber's birth date was unnatural)
And that his passing is coming much faster than I can deal with.
Isaac quietly came up to me and asked me why I was crying.
I told him that I was sad that Geronimo was going to have to leave us and go to heaven soon.
He wrapped his sweet, little arms around me and said,
"Mama, it's ok. Momo will be in heaven with God."
Amazing how God can use even the smallest voice and childlike faith to bring comfort.
