Ben's latest triathlon

Ben had a triathlon 2 weekend ago that we couldn't go to since it was Kendall's first soccer game (ever) with the YellowJackets.

This one wasn't a sprint but an international distance. (His first one.)It was about 1.5 km swim, 28 mile bike, & a 6 mile run. Ben finished it in 2 hours and 41 minutes.

He placed 78/337 in the men's group and 92/577 overall. (Not sure about his age group.) Way to go babers!

Now he is prepping for the 1/2 Ironman on November 13th this year.

Ben did this race in 1 hour 35 minutes and some seconds.
He placed 1st in his age group.
Overall he was 14/88.

The Weekend

We went out for a date night with a few friends. It was lovely to eat dinner in peace and go dancing!

We stopped for a play break after the yard work was completed.

Cherry Point Triathlon Results

Ok so I will add the video on here in a little bit.....if I can get it downloaded with all my to-do's today!
Ben completed his tri on Saturday in 1 hour 1 minute and 10 seconds. (The only way it would have been quicker is if he hadn't had to stop to pee...hee,hee you knew I wouldn't leave that part out babers!)
He placed 2nd in his age group and 5th overall out of about 100 people.

Where did the weekend go?

First let me say that today is sad for me because we are hitting some milestones here! Kendall is on her last week of PMO and will be onto pre-school in September...where is the time going?! Isaac had his first ride in a big boy car seat instead of the infant carrier. (Even though he has been over the weight for awhile now I just couldn't bear the thought of moving him! Too grown up for this mama!)

We had a great weekend. Friday night we had a great time with small group and started a new lesson on parenting.

Saturday we got up at the crack of dawn & went to watch Ben do the Cherry Point Triathlon. He did great as usual and came in 2nd in his age group. I will post his final times when he gets them to me. (I also have video that I need to download when I get time.)

We ran home to get cleaned up then went to the CO's house for an appreciation dinner that night. Kendall and Isaac did great for our new babysitter so I was pumped about that since we will be using her again on Friday night!

Sunday we were blessed with some downtime after church and Sunday school to let all of us recharge our batteries....which was desperately needed!

Yesterday, Ben came home to keep the kids & I went to the doctor for my knee. He is going to get an MRI to see what is going on then decide if I need to go back to PT or what is going on. After that, I went to the dentist to get my ortho work up. (I will find out next week how long and how much my braces are going to set us back.) I also finally got my broken tooth fixed. My mouth is pretty sore today but it is much better than last night! Anyway, you know that I couldn't leave you without some pictures!!

Whitelake Triathlon

Ben just sent me the results for his triathlon from this past Sunday. He completed this sprint in 1 hour 21 minutes and 52 seconds. (Something it would probably take me all day long to do!) He was 8th for his age group and 83/324 men. (I am not sure where he placed overall...maybe the results are not out for that yet?) I think that he did great but he is always striving for perfection. He will be working his magic again on May 30th at the Cherry Point triathlon.

Update: Ben was 93rd out of 550!! AWESOME job babe!

Weekend Fun!

We have had a great weekend! It was certainly jam packed and I must say I am bummed that Ben has to go back to work tomorrow where we have no down time but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles right?
Friday evening we had a great time at game night with our small group. We are looking forward to our new study but are also happy to spend time just clowning around as well.
Saturday was spent having a community wide garage sale where we got rid of a fair amount of stuff. We also spotted a battery powered jeep that we snagged for Kendall and eventually Isaac. Here is a video of the maiden voyage of the jeep plus some footage of the daddy horsie.




My Friend Kelly & I hosted a SURPRISE baby shower for our friend Kim today. Here are the pictures from our fun day!

Ben completed his first triathlon of the season this morning as well. It was in White Lake, NC and we are waiting to hear what his results were since he raced home to help me throw some things together for the baby shower.
