6 years of wedded bliss

A look back from 2003 when we first met and got married to now....6+ years later.
From some of our first moments together, I knew that you were going to be special!

There has never been a shortage of laughter or things to do together

You always push me to be a better person.....

....and for that I am forever grateful.

Looking back through pictures of us and how much we have changed always makes me smile

It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life."

Day 58 of 365 (Bonus quotes!)

“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”
William Ward

Happy early anniversary

Ben and I also opened our anniversary gifts last night even though we won't be celebrating until New Years eve. Due to the close proximity of Christmas and our anniversary, sometimes if we want to get big gifts we overlap so we stay within our budgets. This year Ben had to do that to get me my gift. I have been admiring a bracelet that a friend of mine has worn. Ben got me a bangle bracelet that has a set of naval aviator wings on it. I haven't been able to get the camera to cooperate to get a good picture of it but I will post one soon! I guess it was a tradition in WWII for aviators to give their spouses or girlfriends their wings on a bracelet before they left to go to war. (I didn't know about the history until Ben told me about the research he did on it.) Anyway, it is extremely beautiful and I can't wait to show it to you!
I didn't want Ben to be left out so I gave him his gift. A fellow bloggy friend is a phenomenal sketch artist. She will take whatever picture you want and comprise it solely of a word. In our case, Ben's sketch is made entirely of the word Beach.
My camera really doesn't do justice to her sketches!
So obviously, it is a picture of Ben then his 2 squadron patches from the last 6 years. We will be taking orders next summer so I thought it would be fun to commemorate our time there with this keepsake!
Happy early SIXTH anniversary Babe! I love you!

Opening Christmas Presents Part 2

Stockings and the end!
Kendall's big present was her princess scooter and it is a hit!
Day 8
Kendall patiently waited through some 10 days of present opening to get to her princess gift! Can you tell she is thrilled that it is time to open it?!
Just goofing around!
Day #7
So excited for Christmas this year!
Day #6
Day #5
I am a bad mommy and missed a few of our present opening sessions but I think that you can get the picture from these pictures. Isaac's train set took about 30 minutes to set up on the train table and less than 5 minutes for him to demolish the tracks! Goodness.....we are super excited to get Kendall outside to try out her soccer goals and her scooter. Looking forward to catching up on everyone's blogs when we return home from Pennsylvania! We hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a joyful new year!

Present Opening at the Beach household

Ok so just let me tell you about one of our Christmas traditions.....
Since we live far from both sides of our families, it is hard to establish our own Christmas. Soon enough we will probably end up being at our own home on Christmas day but for now we usually go to my parents in Pennsylvania. We have tons of gifts that we have to take for others so taking our own would just add to the madness of it! We started a few years ago opening 1 present an evening until we left for the holidays. It has worked for us and spreads the joy over more than one day. I wanted to share a few of the pictures of our gift opening so far!
Kendall opening a gift from Aunt Sarah, Uncle Judd, and girls on Day #4
Day #4
My little man is such a lover and NO ONE goes without an Isaac hug everyday! Here he is lovin' on Jordan.
Day #3
Day #2
Isaac was not feeling well this day due to an ear infection.
Day #2 brings more My little ponies into our lives. Kendall is thrilled!

MOPS Christmas Party

We had our Christmas party for our MOPS group this past Tuesday. The kids had a great time eating, doing crafts, playing marshmellow bingo, singing, and just playing. The adults just had a blast talking as usual :-)
She was not having a shy day!
