Home improvements

Our newest project for our home organization. We had outgrown our old wine rack and just wanted something easier/more attractive. It is more glamorous than the new shelves in the laundry room and closet organization so this is what you got!

Happy half birthday!

Kymber is 6 months old today! Wow how did you get to be half a year old already?
She has an appointment on Monday so I will post her stats and what she's been up to then!

The first grade....

Toto we aren't in kindergarten anymore! Wow first grade is a big difference from last year.
I am enjoying all the homework because it forces her to spend time with us :)
She puts alot of pressure on herself with her tests....I am not sure yet if it's good or bad. We have encouraged her that life is not about being perfect but doing your best. (Kendall has scored a perfect on her spelling tests and reading test so far.)
Kendall has all challenge words this week so it could prove to be interesting!
She is also still enjoying soccer. Not sure what is going to happen with ballet....she wants to trade it in for gymnastics!

What do you get.....

.....when you ask your two older children to get an outfit for the baby?

Little fireman

Isaac LOVES firemen, fire trucks, and anything that involves them! (I blame it on the fire station in our neighborhood) His pre-school class just had the fire department visit. He was obviously thrilled! Just wanted to share his cuteness with y'all today!

That husband of mine.......

I get so focused on recording important moments in the kids lives that I often forget to get updates on the core of our family.
Adults are just so boring right?!?
Not in Ben's case! He has been steadily training for a 50 mile race in November. No not a bike race....a running race. Crazy right?! We have heard it all and I even tell him how crazy he is every weekend when he goes out for his "long run."
(This weekend's long run was 25 miles.)
He and his training partner will be doing a "warm-up" marathon on October 6th.
I will post soon on the fundraising that they are doing for our local shelter through their racing!
Here are a few shots from their 10 mile jog on Topsail beach.

Ben's promotion

We do not remember days, we remember moments.

I am desperately carving out time to update the blog not only for our family that is not on facebook but also for our family memories that I am trying hard to capture on here.
July 2012, Ben pinned on major.
It was so neat that his current CO (commanding officer) was also his CO when he was promoted to captain. It is a small marine corps!

The oath

I cannot imagine what life would be like without this man in my life.
I must admit I wasn't certain what I had signed on for when I vowed,
Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried.
But I am so glad that I did!

Punching in those oak leaves

A smoosh for my love

Our older two were at Grammy and Pappy camp during the promotion. We pray that if Ben is blessed to be promoted to LtCol we will have the family there to celebrate!

PT graduation

I was talking to several gals at bible study yesterday and realized I haven't done an update on an important piece of news....
Kymber has graduated from once a week physical therapy to once a month!
Her head has rounded out alot and minus a little asymmetry in her face, she is pretty normal!
She loves the exersaucer, jumperoo, and tummy time. All of that helps with strengthening her muscles.
Oh and she can almost sit herself up and looks like she wants to crawl!!

What a blur!

We have been home from our Missouri and Tennessee trip for about two weeks. And yes it has been a huge blur!
We did orientation for Kendall and Isaac. Kendall started first grade. Kendall had a traumatic dental visit which lead to a pediatric dentist in Wilmington. Kymber has decided at her tender 5 months of age that she doesn't need a nap during the day. Kymber has also graduated to once a month physical therapy!!
Ben and I squeezed in a date night with our neighbors.
Also, Ben has become head coach of Kendall's soccer team.
I am sure that I am forgetting something important but that's the best I can do for my non-Facebook family and friends tonight!
Much love!
