Happy Renewal of Vows Anniversary!

This was scheduled to post on Sunday, May 29th but it obviously didn't! Boo!!
Ben and I spent the day saying farewell to some good friends of ours. (It seems like we spend a lot of time doing that!)
We kind of "celebrate" our renewal of vows anniversary because it was very special to have our friends and family with us to celebrate our marriage BUT count on our December 31st wedding as our "real anniversary!"
Here are a few pictures from that day....some of my favorite!

One of my FAVORITE pics ever of the two of us!

Happy HALF anniversary Benny!
Only another 7 months and we can do it again!

Misc post for this morning

Kendall is THRILLED to be a flower girl for the first time this October.
My cousin Sarah is getting married. Kendall loves Ross & Sarah so this should be easy!
(Isaac is also the ring bearer and the jury is still out on if he will need help down the isle or not.)

Anyway, Sarah sent me these pictures yesterday of the dress for the girls. We LOVE it!

Scripture Sunday/The wedding prayer/week 41 of 52

Last week during a laundry break

Our pastor preached the best sermon on submitting, marriage, & well to be honest his best sermon yet! The word submit is such a hard word/concept to swallow in today's world view. Listening to Jason's message last night, it made so much more sense.....an AHA! moment at it's finest. I thought that while I was doing a little blog surfing that I would share this and a few other tidbits.
Wives and Husbands
Ephesians 5:22-33
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."[b] 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
Truthfully, I am looking forward to letting my husband lead us more spiritually and in life. How about you girls?
For more on this sermon you can view it at http://www.fbcjax.net/ It is well worth your time!

I read this a week or so ago and loved it. I am so glad to finally have the opportunity to share it with you. It was originally posted by Lysa at http://lysaterkeurst.com/

The Wedding Prayer
Father in Heaven, thank you for this husband Ben, and wife, Jamie, and their commitment to Christian marriage. As we look ahead, we pray that their future will never lack the convictions that make a marriage strong.
Bless this husband, Ben. Bless him as provider and protector. Sustain him in all the pressures that come with the task of stewarding a family. May his strength be his wife’s boast and pride, and may he so live that his wife may find in him the haven for which the heart of a woman truly longs.
Bless this wife, Jamie. Give her a tenderness that makes her great, a deep sense of understanding, and a strong faith in You. Give her that inner beauty of soul that never fades, that eternal youth that is found in holding fast to the things that never age. May she so live that her husband may be pleased to reverence her in the shrine of his heart.
Teach them that marriage is not living for each other. It is two people uniting and joining hands to serve You. Give them a great spiritual purpose in life. May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that You will sustain them through all of life’s challenges.
May they minimize each other’s weaknesses and be swift to praise and magnify each other’s strengths so that they might view each other through a lover’s kind and patient eyes. Help them every day to be kind and gentle, more like Thee. Give them a little something to forgive each day, that their love might learn to be long-suffering.
Bless them and develop their characters as they walk together with You. Give them enough hurts to keep them humane, enough failures to keep their hands clenched tightly in Yours, and enough of success to make them sure they walk with You throughout all of their life.
May they never take each other’s love for granted but always experience that breathless wonder that exclaims. “Out of all this world, you have chosen me.” Then, when life is done and the sun is setting, may they be found then as now, still hand in hand, still very proud, still thanking You for each other.
May they travel together as friends and lovers, brother and sister, husband and wife, father and mother, and as servants of Christ until He shall return or until that day when one shall lay the other into the arms of God. This we ask through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, the great lover of our souls. Amen.

Shutter Love Tuesday (Laughter)

2009 during family pictures. Not only was Ben making me LAUGH with the funny things that he was saying but he was also tickling my ear.

Back in 2004. We had our renewal of vows for all of our family to witness. We of course had to do all of the traditions. This is one of my favorite memories from the reception.

The Trendy Treehouse
Today at Trendy house Shutter Love Tuesday is going on. It is my first day participating but boy do I have a good one for today. The theme is laughter so if you are in need of a good laugh head on over!

The Bride

Can I just say that I LOVED my wedding dress?!? I picked it out first in a magazine then my best-friend (I was in California so my mom couldn't come along to go dress shopping. That was one of the only downfalls.) & I found a wedding dress shop in San Diego that had it. It was the first dress I tried on & Laura had to convince me to take it off and try other ones on. I liked the modern twist of having a punch of color in it while keeping it mostly traditional too.

The Groom

Ben waiting for me to get down the aisle....
Our renewal of vows anniversary is not until May 29th but to combat the grumpiness that I have been feeling while Ben has been gone on detachement I am doing a month long of celebrating!
I say renewal of vows (in case you are new to my blog or not a close friend or family member) because we eloped on December 31st, 2003 then had a large ceremony for all of our family and friends in May.
So until later this month when I get my handsome Hubs back.....

"The most wonderful of all things in life is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life."
