2 months old

Kymber is 2 months old today! It feels like she has been here so much longer than that.
She is pretty congested so we have spent the day alternating a steamy bathroom, the vaporizer, the cooler air outside, and some nasal saline spray.
Tomorrow is her doctors appointment so I will have to post her new stats later!

Mother's day 2012: volume 1

What a great mother's day! My first as a mommy of 3!
Ben started out the morning by making my favorites....turkey bacon and pancakes (with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips!)
I had many cards and drawings as well as a movie, a blue ray player, a customizable cover for my iPhone, and most importantly a really cool plaster of the kids feet.
Love that my husband is so crafty on his own!
We went for a walk on the beach as well. (those pictures to follow in volume 2!)
The only bad part of the day was the nearly 5 hours of colic screaming that Kymber did that night!
It was fun to be able to call and wish my mom & mother-in-law a happy day too. I was thinking of calling my grandmas too but unfortunately I ran out of time!
So very grateful for the 3 kiddos that made me a mommy, for the Mamoo that raised me, a great mom in law, and of course my grandmas!
Hope y'all had a blessed day too!!

7 weeks old

So hard to believe she is already 7 weeks old!
We went garage saling this weekend and scored a swing for the upstairs so I have logged a few good hours in my own bed!
She is much more active and likes to kick her sweet little legs when she is laying on the floor.
Kymber is also a big fan of wild patterns. She really tracks those closely!
We also had a few "social" smiles last week from her.
Daddy returned home last night and thinks she has chunked up alot in the week he was gone!
Here she is sporting my alma mater and in her "new" swing upstairs!

My little girl is growing up

Kendall lost her first tooth today at school. It has been really loose for sometime but I didn't think it was quite ready to pop out.
Kendall said she bit into an apple and it was stuck in the apple. Her poor teacher had to rescue her tooth to send it home.
She is a bit of a drama queen so I expected her to be squeamish about it but she was very matter of fact.
Now I need to figure out the going rates for a tooth & muster the energy to send the tooth fairy in tonight!

Our final day with Geronimo

I have been putting off posting...frankly I still can't really talk about Geronimo very much without crying.
I am hoping that by blogging and saving some memories that it will be good therapy for me.
These are our last shots with our big old teddy bear. He remained our protector until his last breath even though he was in quite a lot of pain.
He gave us one last good laugh while sitting in the parking lot at the vet's office....for those of you that knew Momo well, you know that he was slightly prejudiced even though he himself was black. Well true to form, there was an African-American gentleman walking past that Geronimo picked his head up and growled at. Sweet boy I miss having you rest your head on me so much!

Birth Story

Kymber Mae
I figured that I had better go ahead and post some pictures of our hospital stay & Kymber's story before life got too far away from me (or I forget the details!)
Kymber was breech from 14 weeks on. (I know that they can flip, move, etc. but she was always in the same position up until she was delivered.)
I tried various techniques to get our third bundle of joy to flip but she was stubborn....
Or perhaps it was just God-designed to have her via c-section.
She was born March 20, 2012 at 0815 in the morning.
We reported to the labor deck at 0530....so very early!! There was a lot of activity to regulate my issues. (They took extra pre-cautions and gave me meds for my low blood pressure, nausea, etc.)
Ben stood up through almost the entire surgical procedure and wished that he could have seen more into the incision. (You know more of my guts!)
Her head was pretty wedged in there so it took them awhile to get her out but out she came screaming her little lungs out.
The comments from the nurses were....
"She has SO much hair!"
"There is nothing little on this baby."
"Look at these big, chunky thighs."
I was blessed to have MANY students in the surgical suite and on the floor. Glad that I could pay back for all those patients who did the same for me during nursing school.
It has been a long road to get Miss Kymber here but we are so glad that she is safe, healthy, and in our arms!
Since she is going to be 7 weeks old tomorrow, I will share some of our nicknames that we have for her.
Most times I call her munch, munch or munk, munk
Ben calls her munk, munk or BIG GIRL YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL
(Munk, munk comes from chunk a munk)
Kendall calls her "Kymbie"
Isaac frequently calls her "Baby"

He makes me smile

I love that Isaac is just like his daddy and can sleep anywhere in any combination.
This was today after strawberry picking at Aman farm. Delicious strawberries, great company, and lots of sunshine makes for an exhausted boy!

6 weeks

Miss Kymber is 6 weeks old today. She remains a little angel during the day and not so much at night. We are battling reflux/colic issues. We started our sweet girl on probiotics, gripe water, and of course gripe water. Most nights, she sleeps well it is just the 2-5 hours before bed that are pretty horrendous.
Other than that, everyone seems to be adjusting to our new "normal."
The kids and I are on our own this week since Ben has work duties to attend to. Praying the week speeds by with little stress as possible.
I am attaching a few pictures of Kymber.
