Merry Christmas!!
from our house to yours!
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! - Matthew 7:11

Beach Family Christmas
We are not normally in our house over Christmas so I have taken a liking to spreading out the joy over the week before we leave. In true Beach tradition, we started opening a few gifts each night on Sunday. Here are some of the pictures from Sunday & Monday nights gifts.

Gingerbread Train
Friday night we debated on going to a Christmas party in New Bern or staying home. Since Ben had already driven to work & back home, we decided to not do another long drive. Instead, we made our first (and I am hoping annual) gingerbread train. Isaac wasn't cooperating very much so it was mostly Ben and Kendall creating it. Kendall had a blast & Ben survived it! Here are some of the pictures of it :-)

What a blessed day!
My favorite part of the day (minus waking up to two beautiful children & a wonderful hubby) is to get online & see what my friends and family have been up to. I also love coming to our blog and reading the daily scripture. Sometimes, it touches me more than others....today was one of those days. I would like to think that the Lord meant for us to teach our chilren this one. Of course, I also had to include a few photos since I am indeed a picture-holic as God made me!

Immense satisfaction...
Milestones
Isaac slept through the night on the 9th! I am talking from 8:20 until almost 6!! I had to get up and pump about 2 a.m. so I didn't get to fully enjoy it but we were so thrilled :-) And then last night we were back to getting up once to eat! We will see how he does in the next few weeks.

Kendall's Korner & Isaac's inch by inch
I have given up on potty training for the time being, instead I am focusing on losing the binky.Kendall has been bucking me (literally) about going to the potty. I think that if I back off and allow her some space to process it maybe she will do better. In fact, just today she pulled the back of my pants out and told me, "no poppy mommy, good job!" I have been managing to keep her from 0630 to 1330 without her binky but naptime doesn't come smoothly without it. My next goal in a week or two is to take it after nap until bed. We will see!
Isaac turned 3 months old on Sunday. Hard to believe that he is that old and this big already! He is much more responsive now & loves when people talk to him. Their big reward is his huge smile! He pulls himself up into a sitting position when in your lap & has remarkable head control for 3 months. He still hates being on his belly but then again so do I and Kendall as well. Here are his 3 month portraits from today.
A note of thanks!
After picking Kendall up, we were greeted by several presents sitting on the porch. I just wanted to take a little time and give a shout out to all of the family and friends that have sent us gifts over the past few weeks.
Thanks to Uncle Vince & Aunt Emy, Laura, Sarah, Judd, & girls, Aunt Martha, Aunt Nita, Amy & Michael, Dan & Nikki, and Andrea. We have appreciated everything so much!
(Andrea as I type Kendall is flying the blue angel plane around me :-) Thanks for the touch of P'cola!!)

Remember
I know it's early but I want to be the 1st.
With 3 weeks before ChristmasREMEMBER:
Jesus is Better than Santa
Santa lives at the North Pole.
JESUS is everywhere.
Santa rides in a sleigh
JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.
Santa comes but once a year
JESUS is an ever present help.
Santa fills your stockings with goodies
JESUS supplies all your needs.
Santa comes down your chimney uninvited
JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.
You have to stand in line to see Santa
JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.
Santa lets you sit on his lap
JESUS lets you rest in His arms.
Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"
JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.
Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly
JESUS has a heart full of love.
All Santa can offer is HO HO HO
JESUS offers health, help and hope.
Santa says "You better not cry"
JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.
Santa's little helpers make toys
JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.
Santa may make you chuckle but
JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.
While Santa puts gifts under your tree
JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.
It's obvious there is really no comparison.
We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.
We need to put Christ back in Christmas.
Jesus is still the reason for the season.
May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2008
And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year.

Did I mention.....
What a wonderful hubby!
Isaac is giving me a run for my money.....hence the reason for my lack of creative blogging. Last night was no exception as I only got 2 solid hours of sleep.
Benny was home this morning since he has a night flight tonight & instead of relaxing took care of the kiddos for me so I could catch a nap before the morning started full swing. Thanks Benny!!
I will work on pictures when I get another nap in (soon if Isaac will sleep!) and clean the house for our women's dinner tomorrow night!
Thanks for all the advice on the dentist guys!

The Dentist
I had envisioned posting a cute picture of Kendall sitting up in the dentist chair like a big girl with a huge cheesy smile on her face and what you are receiving is this......
It wasn't as bad as it could have been. I ended up sitting in the chair with Kendall in my lap. The dental hygienist was extremely patient with her. We finally got her to open her mouth by giving her a Diego toothbrush and she showed the hygienist how to brush her teeth. They said that she looked really good....no dark spots, teeth fairly decent, etc.
Our dentist came in and Kendall freaked. Could be because I was sittting in the chair with a screaming Isaac & a tired Kendall?!? He crouched down next to her but she wouldn't even smile. I am hoping that our next visit in June goes better.
Aunt Diane....any suggestions? I kept telling her we have fun here & we showed her how the chair moves.......
Andrea....I don't know that Kendall wants to be a dentist anytime soon! Your boys are so good!

Blog Silence.....
I am back! Whew....it took me a few days to recover from our marathon drives to Philadelphia over Thanksgiving so now I am ready to dive back in :-)
We had such a GREAT time with my parents, sister & brother-in-law, and my Aunt Diane's clan. It made the 13 hour trip there on Wednesday and our 15 hour trip on Sunday almost worth it! Yeah that is not a typo.....a trip that was to take 9-10 hours got way extended due to traffic, Isaac's insane appetite, and some other little mishaps.
Thanks to Jen and Josh for having our crazy crew! We had a yummy dinner on Thursday & had fun sharing it with the Chericos. We played our annual boys -vs- girls trivial pursuit game (sadly, the girls lost this year.....we'll get them next year!) added in some pictionary and then on Friday some Rook.
Ben and Josh also broke out the Xbox and played some silly ghost recon game. Jen put a stop to that pretty quickly thank goodness! :-)
We got to have a few treats while we were there.....sampled some hoagie subs from Josh's favorite Primo's & got some bbq, cowboy beans, and baked potatoes from Tex's BBQ. Ben was in 7th heaven since it was authentic Texas bbq!
The kiddos were well taken care of and entertained while we were there. Thanks for the toys Aunt Diane and Jen.....Kendall loved them!
I will post some pics when I get a free minute....I have to get Kendall ready for her first dentist appointment today & then we have a play date if she is good!

Beautiful Weekend
We were very grateful to spend the weekend with friends. We had JT, Kelly, their kids, Beth, Rob, & their kids over on Saturday night. It was a bunch of ruckus but fun! We had an uneventful Sunday at church and Sunday school with friends as well! Today we are preparing for our journey to my sister's tomorrow.
Since we probably won't be on the computer all that much while we are at Jen's, I just wanted to wish ya'll a happy Thanksgiving and tell you how THANKFUL we are to have each and every one of you in our lives.
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, - Hebrews 12:28

Kendall's korner & Isaac's inch by inch
Kendall has been keeping us amused with her new sayings every day. Some of the newest ones are...."Kendall missing, Isaac missing." (in regards to a picture of Ben and I before children!Don't bother trying to explain to a 2 year old about before she was born! It doesn't exist.) Asking her to do something now elicits the response, "SURE!!!", When asking her about a broken foot stool.....I said, "What is this Kendall?" "Weeeellllll it's broken mama!"
If ever there was a moment when I ABSOLUTELY knew she was Ben's daughter & not mine.....
