I am not alone....

What a great reminder as I was not so gently awakened at 0330 this morning by Kenzie moving and shifting.

I am trying to focus on the wee baby and her little and not so little movement inside of me. It's crazy how fast after you have your baby that you forget what it felt like to share your body with someone else.

So this morning, this is what I am concentrating on instead of the end of pregnancy aches and pains!

What Ben affectionately calls "the massive mound of madness." I've only gained 2 lbs since December 26th but she seems to have popped out! See you in 2 weeks and 4 days Kenzie!!

36 weeks update

I had my 36 week doctors appointment at my 36 week mark on Friday.

Kenzie is measuring right on and they are still estimating her birth weight will be around 7 lbs....the jury is out on that one till she gets here!

As of right now, there is no one scheduled for induction or c-section on February 14th! I am slated to come in between 6-7 a.m. To get the process started!

My Calvary starts arriving February 10th so I am excited to see everyone!

I am anxious to get her here but also a little scared to be responsible for all 4 here!

I am feeling ok but have had some end of pregnancy symptoms that I have never had in previous pregnancies, making me physically very uncomfortable. I am holding onto the fact that we are under 3 weeks to go!!

I put together Kenzie's sleep to play contraption. It only took 30 minutes! I am still working on her new swing!

29 weeks

This is like a drug for this pregnant mama.....I could eat it by the spoonful!! Just thought you might like to see a fierce craving!

I am horrible at self portraits which are what the first two are! The last two were taken by Kendall, hence the blurriness!

The baby is now the size of a squash. She feels the size of a watermelon!

I am still doing therapy 3 times a week for my hip and back. It helps some. It is hard not to do things at the house that I know need done. My primary goal is to keep the kids safe and healthy & the rest is just as needed!

I finally had to complete my glucose test this week. It was just as nasty as always!!

The best news of the week is that my parents have their plane tickets booked and my best friend, Kelly, is also booked for the birth! 

Now sweet Kenzie please go with the plans and schedule!!

What is happening in week 28?

I got my hospital parking pass. I wish Lejeune would have had these! I will certainly appreciate not having to walk as far on my bum hip!

I measured fine and her heartbeat sounded great.

My next appointment will be in the brand new hospital on December 26th.

Ben bought us a sit and stand stroller before he left. I have a feeling it will come in very handy! Kymber already loves it!

27 weeks

And 2 days but who is counting?! We have decided on the name Kenzie for this little gal. (No middle name yet!)

She is very active esp when I lay down. The kids and I will get to see her again on Tuesday during my ultrasound.

I am trying to stay positive but my hip and back are really hard to ignore. At this time, I am doing therapy 3 times a week. Looking forward to holding her in my arms instead of inside my body!

Thankful

Very thankful that this little gem was only a 24 hour monitor!

No worries  the monitor is standard operating procedure for my pregnancies! I am confident that it will say the same thing that it has since I started having symptoms at 19!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's sensory development is exploding! Her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. Some research suggests that she may be able to hear your voice now, so don't be shy about reading aloud, talking to her, or singing a happy tune if the mood strikes you.

Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of an heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid.

18 weeks

For our non Facebook family and friends, we found out on Saturday that we will be adding another little girl to the Beach household. We are now working on another K name for this little one!

I am feeling ok. Reflux mostly under control with medication. The only other complaint I have is back and hip pain. I can only pray it doesn't get as bad as with Kymber's pregnancy.

I have only gained 7 pounds this far and I am extremely grateful for that.

17 weeks belly shot

Nothing fancy to show or say. Just the baby bump today! (well it was actually yesterday but time is all relative!)

14 weeks

This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

First non-stress test

Just a brief update tonight...
I had my first non-stress today. Kymber passed but is still breech. It sounds like if she stays that way that I will be heading for a c-section.
They monitored my oxygen level which remained good.
The only hiccup (besides her position) is that she has a little bit of a weird heart rhythm right now. I will be seen every friday so they will be monitoring her rhythm as well. I am praying that will resolve itself.
I am exhausted tonight so I am gonna close out.

34 weeks

Today marks the 6 weeks or less mark.
I am still feeling very poorly but I will save all of that for a later post. I am doing all that I can to make this as bearable for my family and I as possible.
I have been praying daily that Kymber will have the most beautiful personality and behavior to make up for her lackluster pregnancy. (Even though we will love her whatever her behavior and personality may be!)
I have noticed a huge drop in her positioning over the last few days. I will be having a growth ultrasound on Friday to see how large she really is and if she is still in breech position although I feel 99% positive that she still is.
I am including two pictures from this morning. Ben is forever a jokster and likes to take pictures of me when I am not ready!

Amongst the hustle and bustle....

I am taking a few minutes to remember someone who was precious to us. Who remains precious. Who we will not meet until we are called home.

Before last night, I didn't know that there was a day of rememberance for infant and pregnancy loss. A good friend sent me this picture and a simple "I'm thinking about you." I wanted to do that for my friends and family who have also suffered the loss of a pregnancy or infant. 

Everyone grieves in their own time and in their own way. I have friends who still can't talk about their loss without tears filling their eyes...

It's been 10 months 3 weeks & 6 days since I found out that we lost our baby.

And some days I still think about what might have been and who that little one might have become.

But I trust that God had other plans for our little one much greater than I can even imagaine.

Our little lost love would have been around 3 months old right now. Wow how different our lives would be!

And I am keeping in perspective that without the loss of that little one.....that we would not have the precious child that is growing inside of me right now.

Praying for all of those that have loved and lost.

Your Baby

Buckle up folks, we're about to heading into trimester two!


Your little womb tenant is getting bigger and smarter every day! Their skin is paper-thin and rather see-through, showing off all their shiny new functioning and still-developing organs.

Their sense of taste and smell are more developed and refined while their cozy amniotic sac continues to increase in size and mass and fill with more fluid.

As we embark on the second trimester, it's time for your manatee-to-alien-to-tiny-weird-human to evolve into monkey baby!

Little hairs, known as lanugo, will start to cover your baby's body this week, which will eventually be shed some time after birth.

Of all the trimesters, this one has been the most critical to ensuring your baby's development is on the right track.

The current size of our little one.....

Your baby can make a fist and even suck his or her thumb this week—both skills that are über-cute during infancy ... and not so much at the age of 9. If you're really lucky, you might catch a glimpse of baby's thumb sucking on an ultrasound photo. That's a framer! Other exciting developments include:

Your baby's eyelids are fused shut to protect his eyes as they develop. His bones and skull are solidifying and soon itsy-bitsy ribs may appear. (Baby ribs! How cute is that?!) Baby's intestines are finally right where you want them—in his or her belly instead of poking out into the umbilical cord. Baby's tooth sockets are all loaded and ready to pop out baby teeth six or seven months after baby is born (causing baby a lot of pain and you a lot of lost sleep).

Who's that singing? Elton John? Could be your baby: His vocal cords and larynx are completed now.

Your baby-to-be now weighs about 20 grams and is nearly 3 inches long, or about the size of a Nutter Butter, covered in chocolate. OK, it doesn't have to be covered in chocolate, but isn't everything better that way?

Tissue that will form your baby's bones is being laid down, especially around the head and limbs. The nose and chin are becoming more prominent. Your baby's eyelids meet and fuse together and they will not open again for nearly four months. The eyes started out on the side of your baby's head and they are now moving closer together on the face. The ears come to lie in their normal position on the sides of the head. If examined outside of the womb, you will be able to distinguish male from female at this time.


The sockets for all twenty teeth are formed in the gums, and vocal cords are beginning to form.

Not sleeping....

Yeah, so here I am at 3 something in the morning surfing the Internet again. The past few days (only the last 5 or 6) I have been getting up somewhere in the the vicinity of 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. I am just uncomfortable, unable to sleep, and unwilling to disturb Ben. In having this plethora of free time, I have found another blog site.... mom-101 that I found an interesting post on. (Lots of interesting posts but this one in particular)
Many of you have been asking us about our plans for future children. My standard answer has been "the jury is still out" I would love another little girl but I just don't know if I have another pregnancy left in me. Jump to the other blog site......
The owner of it was talking about being terrified that she was pregnant for the third time and she said something that just made me laugh (quietly of course so I don't wake up my family!)
"I did not make a particularly good baby transport system, ....." "and the feelings of being fat and slow and stupid and ugly and irrelevant."
Yeah I am rambling but it is early and I haven't slept all that much!
So the jury is still out & we will see a few years down the road if I am ready to be a baby transport system again.
