Ben completed his first 50 mile running race on November 17th this year. It was in Maryland. At some point, I hope to have a link to share on the history of it because it is pretty neat!
Ben and his partner Phillip suffered through a few rough patches but really didn't have any major complications with the race!
Ben completed the race in 9 hours and 10 minutes.
He was 242/967 overall and 77/195 for his age bracket.
We are so proud of his most recent adventure!

We went to watch Ben's first trail marathon in Greensboro, NC, this past weekend. It was very fun to be able to see him and cheer him on at 5 out of 7 spots.

Run for the Warriors
It all started with one simple comment from Kendall...
"Mommy you look like you have another baby in your tummy."
And ended up with me running a 5k with some of the best friends that a girl could ask for!
We completed this race this past weekend.
My final times were not the best but I completed it and didn't end up in the ambulance afterwards!
I ran it in 39 min:03seconds
497 overall out of 799
43 out of 74 in my age group....
gives me something to shoot for in the next one!

Ben's first half-Ironman
Ben had his first half-ironman on Saturday in Wilmington, NC. It is called the beach to battleship. (The race starts at Wrightsville beach and ends at the battleship North Carolina.)
For those of you not familiar with these races, a half-ironman entails a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, & a 13.1 mile run.
Ben completed his in 5 hours and 10 minutes.
He was 42/661 overall; 40/441 men; and 5th in his age group. What an achievement!
He trained very hard and had great partners who also did awesome in the race!

BOOKED! Highlands, NC
Ben is going to be running his first ever adventure race. (I still call him crazy!) He has partnered up with his friend, Aaron, who is also the flight doc for his squadron. (Thank goodness if there are any injuries they can be tended to!) While the guys are doing their race, Erin (Aaron's wife!) and I will be caring for the kids in this lovely house. I haven't done much research on what there is to do in Highlands, NC, but we will see what a 5 to 6 week old, a nearly 4 year old, a nearly 2 year old and their mamas can get into!We will be gone the second weekend in June so prayers for safe travel, safe race, and sanity of the mothers would be much appreciated!
Stay tuned for more pictures.
