My parents WAY BACK in the day before us kiddos. Not even sure what a date would be but prior to 1977. I think that these posed pictures at parks are always so fun!

1. What is your favorite fair/carnival food? Cotton candy!!
2. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of? I don't believe so......
3. What is your favorite gift to receive?any gift is my favorite!
4. When was the last time you tried something new? hmmm....not really super sure?! I did shoot a new gun on my date night last month
5. What is your favorite and least favorite book genre? Favorite would be fiction and least favorite probably anything political
Memoir, Mystery, Political Intrigue, Romance, Humor, Historical Fiction, Historical nonfiction, Chick Lit, Self-Help, Other
6.Silver or Gold? White gold :-)
7. What makes you sigh? Un prompted kisses and hugs from my kiddos
8. If you didn't know how old you are, how old would you claim you are? 25!
9. Would you break a law to save a loved one? To protect a loved one? Yes and depends
10. If you had to teach something, what would it be? Nursing
11. You're having lunch with 3 people whom you respect and admire. They begin to criticize a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. What do you do? I would hope to speak up about my friendship with the person.
12. Which of the 5 Love Languages is your prominent means of experiencing love?
Quality Time (Score 10)
In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.
Physical Touch (Score 8)
This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.
Words of Affirmation (score 6)
Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.
Receiving Gifts (Score 4)
Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.
Acts of Service (Score 2)
Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter.

3 Things that Parents should teach their children-Blog Hop

Wow narrowing down to 3 things that are important to teach your children is hard. I have been thinking about this on and off since Brent posted the Blog hop.

"As a mother, I must faithfully, patiently, lovingly, and happily do my part - then quietly wait for God to do His." Ruth Bell Graham

  1. TO LOVE: Period. Love freely and without abandon. God, family, friends, themselves, and yes even their enemies. In placing your love in someone else, they learn to let go and trust that God will let the other person open up and receive them as well.
  2. TO LIVE: I want my children to charge into life full throttle and not take a second for granted. With living comes mistakes which will ultimately lead to maturity & respect.
  3. TO GIVE: God gives us so many gifts and the only way to share them is to use them on others. I hope they give until they have nothing left so that those they touch can see what a beautiful being the Lord has made.

Here is where you get to speak up about your parenting values!
