8 years young

This big guy turns 8 today!! So hard to believe that my sweet brown bear is in 3rd grade and well on his way to hitting the magic double digits number!
You constantly keep me on my toes, make me smile, and are my little sweetie even if it is a bit difficult to hold you in my lap now!

**Tormenting your sisters!!

Can I sleep until PCS season is over?

Military life. It guarantees that you will meet more people than you ever thought possible. Love and lose more friends than you could possibly imagine.
As this summer's PCS season is upon us, I really wish that I could curl up and sleep through it. I am dealing with my own sadness of friends leaving but still need to support the kids who are losing friends.
I can honestly say that I have been ok until Kymber came to me yesterday with pen & paper. She asked me to write a note to her friend, Katie. It was to say "Katie,  I love you even though you have to move."
So just like an upcoming deployment,  I will cling to the memories made over the next few weeks and try to distance myself so that it doesn't hurt so much.
Lifecycle in the Marine Corps.

Just because I can......

Just a few snapshots of the Littles last week. I'm hoping that they love these little moments of every day life when they get older!

20 mile club

Kendall has hit her 20 miles mark in her PE class. She is excited to be so close to the marathon club. I am so glad that they take after Ben more than me!

So this happened.....

Maverick was busy during growth group last night. Any suggestions from our dog training friends? I know that he is bored but what else can I do to help him?
Signed,
Desperately in the middle of puppy hood

Jump for joy!!

Wow what a feeling!  We took our refund check and some savings to payoff our college loans today!
It is liberating to say that the only debt we have left is the NC house!
I hope that we can help the kids stay debt free instead of working towards debt freedom!  #accountability #financial health #workhard

A happy belated birthday to Maverick?!

So we don't have an actual birthday for Maverick since he was found as a street dog. Kendall decided that we would take the date range that the vet gave us back in December and cut that in half and give him a birthday. April 1st is the day that we celebrate our resident spaz! He is a work in progress on obedience and manners but you can tell that he is falling in love with our family and wants to please so badly!
So happy birthday Maverick Rowan!!!

Life in our house

As I am working towards becoming a certified health coach, Ben has been so very patient with me getting into my groove of work vs home life. It has been an interesting ride so far. I thank the people that have let me talk out my dreams and aspirations with this new journey so far!
I love the freedom that working from home involves plus still feeling like I am able to be a "full time mom."
I recently saw the quote "She designed a life she loved" from a gal that I really admire and it got me thinking why I wanted to get healthy from the beginning. Healthy for me, for Ben, and for the kids. I want to do fun, active things with my husband and children.
So this is my update for now.....stand by for more updates!

Kendall and Isaac have been working hard at school with their running club. Kendall hit 15 miles and Isaac hit 10 miles!  I love their dedication to being fit!

Good-bye Herbst device hello lower lingual arch bar

Kendall spent 13 months in her Herbst device plus the time before that with the expander. The orthodontist is concerned with the way her teeth are coming in so she wants to place the lower lingual arch space holder. Essentially it just holds the space in her mouth for the other teeth to come through. Whew! When did my baby get old enough to need orthodontics ??

Thoughtful Thursday

A day in my life

What yesterday and today looks like for a work at home mom. Oh yeah and 2 cute little girls playing at my feet. 12 years ago if you would have told me that I could work from home, I would have thought that you were crazy! I am now loving the ability to see my kids grow up and still help people!

The Beach fashion blog

Since my kids are so cute.....
I mean since my Grammy wants to see the kids....
Ahem ok maybe since the kids have so many clothes, I decided to do a different approach to fashion. I am hoping that this will be a daily picture that the kids will look back and laugh at.....and maybe I will be able to get them to wear all their clothes!

Tour of our home:part 2/the front room

So.....I know that I started to do this when we first got to California but sadly I didn't finish it. Since I am the memory keeper of the family,  I am making it a point to preserve the house for our California adventure.
It makes me happy to know that some of my family and friends will be able to see it even if they never set foot in the house!
This is our front room/office. Newly rearranged and almost completely organized! Now when you think of me working,  you have a place to picture!
