Red week at school this week. The opportunity to explain to your children why drugs are bad. Why it's ok to say no. A way to make it a fun lesson and not so much a lecture.
If you don't educate your kiddos, who is going to?
A pinterest idea that I really liked....
A husband that is very artistic.....
A thrilled little boy!
I felt bad that we've been cooped up so I loaded up Isaac and Kymber plus tons of cough drops.
We had a great time with tether ball, rock walls, slides, swings, and more. Kymber liked her first time in the swing for a short time.
It did all of us good to be outside in the sunshine!
Kendall and Isaac had a sleepover with our neighbor girl on Friday night so Ben took my hacking, vapor rub smelly behind out to eat.
We ate at a new Indian restaurant called Tandori bites. It was very good (even to my very slimy throat) so I can't wait to go back when my taste buds are fully functional.
Glad we had a moment to enjoy each other even if it was accompanied by ricola drops and Vicks!
I broke out a pair of my boots too. I am very excited for fall....minus the cold of course!
One thing I can say about Geronimo, is that he NEVER left my side especially when I was sick.
I am missing his big, wet nose pressing against me today.
(Drawing from Benny on the kids etch a sketch type toy)
I have a horrendous cough and cold so I am trying to keep myself amused or I am going to break down & cry......
So I took this picture of Kymber's crazy hair (which made me smile) while she's nursing.
It is hard to believe how much and how long her hair is already at only 7 months old!!
We have been steadily completing projects to improve the flow of daily life & of course also add value to the house.
This week Ben got our storm door up. Energy improvement yes. Home improvement yes. More importantly safety improvement! I like the extra layer of protection and the extra lock!
Now we are thinking about painting the front door....anyone have any suggestions based on our brick, siding, and shutter colors?
We have been busy (this doesn't change I guess when you have more kiddos!)
The weekly highlights.....
Kendall loves her "new to her clothes" from DR. Because they have dance theatre on them and because they ate from DR!
She also had her first dentist appt which went well. Now we have one more left in November and hopefully we will be done!
Isaac is in love with his bow and arrows and all things super heroes. After much debate, he decided to be the black spiderman for Halloween.
Kymber is having a growth spurt (I think.) she is eating about 3-4 tubs of food a day plus nursing 5-7 times a day.
It has dawned on me that I haven't downloaded pictures from the "real" camera in 1.5 months so I will have alot of catching up to do here soon :)
We went to watch Ben's first trail marathon in Greensboro, NC, this past weekend. It was very fun to be able to see him and cheer him on at 5 out of 7 spots.
More pictures and information when I can download the pictures from the camera!
Kymber is definitely developing her very own & distinct personality. She lights up the room with her smile and fills the room with screams when she is unhappy!
We are still doing stretches to work her neck muscles but she is getting stronger each and every day!
Yesterday in all the afternoon fuss.....
Homework, cooking, packing lunches for today, carting Kymber around, etc I saw little man sitting in the corner of the kitchen looking so sad.
I talked to him & he was feeling left out. That definitely broke my heart. So we stopped and played Isaac style. Can you guess what he likes from these pictures?
....simply lights up my day!!
Kendall is such a great mommy helper! I don't know what I would do without her!!
Following Ben's training for his JFK 50? This past weekend he completed 31.5 miles. That is supposed to be the longest run before the race in November.
This weekend they will run a practice marathon in Greensboro as "warm up." stay tuned for some pictures from it!
It's hard to believe that Ben has only run one marathon competitively but in this training, he has run a marathon every weekend for the past 5 weeks!
Ok I am going to admit I love our landscaping in the front of our home. Our backyard, on the other hand, has been a source of frustration for Ben and I.
We have been steadily trying to build up our back bed but the soil leaves a lot to be desired!
It has been a huge treat to watch the bed fill with sweet potato vine. (ESP since we didn't even "plant" it.)
I thought I would share our viney treasure!
