From a teacher's (almost!) perspective...Jamie-<br /><br />From a teacher's (almost!) perspective, remember that they DO NOT HAVE to know everything when they enter pre-school/kindergarten!The teacher is there to help them learn! They check things that your friend posted at K registration to get records that some students might not have, but once again, it's not necessary for Kendall to know all that beforehand! Here is a list of things they checked on before K. <br /><br />*Counts in sequence 1-10<br />*Recognizes numbers 1-10<br />*Counts number of objects in a small group (up to 5)<br />*Identifies 3 basic shapes<br />*Identifies/points to 5 colors (red, blue, yellow, green, and orange)<br />*Identifies self as boy or girl<br />*Identifies age<br />*Separates from parents by appearing comfortable and secure without parent<br />*Writes name correctly<br />*Uses writing tool with control and intention<br />*Recognizes name in print<br />*Reproduces/copies -, 0, X, +<br />*Recognizes 10 alphabet<br /><br />Hope that helps.
